“Undead Realm: Ego” is my third FMV (Full Motion Video) game after “Try and Love” and “Back.” For those of you who’ve played the earlier ones—thanks for sticking with me. And to anyone new checking out my FMV stuff for the first time, welcome!

I also want to give a huge shout-out to the crew who worked their butts off during the shoot. We were in a freezing abandoned school in the middle of nowhere, no water or electricity, and we pulled several all-nighters. It was tough, and I was freezing even in a down jacket, but the actors were still out there in short sleeves and skirts. Super professional. I might not say “Undead Realm: Ego” is the best FMV out there, but I genuinely believe the cast and crew are the hardest-working team in this niche genre.

I really want to make a game that scores above 8, and that was my goal from the start. But writing a script is way harder than I thought, and I get why good writers and scripts are so rare. The original plot for “Undead Realm: Ego” was way more complex, but I quickly realized my budget couldn’t even cover a fraction of that. More content means longer shooting times, and longer shooting times mean more costs for everyone involved. The budget just wasn’t there.

Zhou Yawen – The calm, intellectual Chinese teacher who always knows how to handle conflicts. She’s the kind of person everyone relies on, bringing a sense of hope and warmth to those around her.

• Yang Tiantian – A shy, kind-hearted office worker who puts others first. She’s sensitive and caring, but sometimes forgets to take care of herself.
• Lin Ziqi – A freelance photographer with a bold, confident personality. She’s sharp, independent, and always notices the details others miss.
• Sun Xiaoya – A bubbly, optimistic beauty expert who lightens the mood with her humor. She’s social, loves perfection, and is the life of the party.
• Liu Mengqi – A quiet, introverted college student who’s tough on the inside. Despite her fear, she pushes herself to keep going when things get tough.
• Zhang Yuqing – A quiet girl with hidden depth. On the surface, she seems fragile, but when faced with challenges, she reveals surprising strength and courage.
