You are a weird Alchemist Shop Simulator with a tiny, smelly store. Initially, the area is boring, but with an effort, you will make the locals smile and transform your store into something wonderful. The game starts with you waking up confused not knowing what is happening, and receiving strange letters from someone unknown. Once you learn who the author of the letters is, things become clear. This surprise was a delightful twist and certainly made me smile.

After you collect the ingredients you can begin brewing potions and stocking your shelves. The customers will happily purchase whatever you brew, which was a joy of the game. I loved using the abacus to figure out the change, and tweaking prices to optimize profit was a challenge I enjoyed.

But where Alchemist Shop Simulator struggles is in its lack of urgency. Watering your crops is good, but there’s no actual hurry to do it and there’s no actual risk involved which was slightly frustrating. The game could use more challenges and a greater balance of fundamental gameplay mechanisms.

The lack of depth is a bit disappointing, too. Once you’ve unlocked all the potions, there’s not much reason to keep playing. The repetitive nature of the tasks also means it’s hard to binge play for long stretches. The game is fun but without more variety and depth it does not have much replay value.
