Yue is a young guy born in a mountain shrine in the town of Utsuwa. One day, he heads to the winter festival with his childhood buddy, a black fox named Kurogitsune. The lanterns light up in red, the town’s buzzing, and Yue gets his first real taste of the outside world. It’s there he meets two mysterious boys. When he heads back up the mountain, the shrine’s owner, Mikoto, gives him a strange task: prepare the “meal.”

Yue’s the type of guy who takes life slow. He’s lazy but also curious, always wanting to learn more when it catches his interest. This is his first time leaving the mountain on the day of the winter festival.

Kurogitsune is Yue’s childhood companion, a black fox who’s like a big brother to him. He’s strong-willed, straightforward, and honest with everyone around him. He’s always looking out for Yue.
